Schwarzenegger Giving Slots Away

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, not the first person you think of when you think slot machine expansion, has shown everyone that he cannot be pegged when deciding what to do next. He has just signed agreements to bring in somewhere around 14,000 more slot machines into the state. This is a man who once said that the slot machine industry was one of the problems with the state.

Even his predecessor did not give them this much rope – the region is about to become home to thousands upon thousands of slot machines, and even bigger casinos. And he’s not done – he has several more agreements that he is working on, which means there seems to be no limit to the number of slot machines the man is willing to allow in.

Schwarzenegger seems to have changed his tune from the days of calling them “special interest groups” and telling them that they need to pay 25% of their revenue to the state. It seems that none of the deals he seems to have come up with are quite that strict. Although, to be fair to the Governor, he will be bringing in billions of dollars of revenue into the state of California.
