Ormsby House Under Construction 

The renovation that was started six years ago is still going strong according to casino officials. Carson City’s Ormsby House Hotel and Casino is going, but going slowly according to owner Don Lehr. 

The hotel and casino started renovations back in 2000 and will look much cleaner and brighter when done – especially since they are removing the old brown building exterior. The New Year’s rainstorms that flooded the lower most floor of the hotel put them behind somewhat, so they had to make up for lost time. When finished, it will consist of 130 rooms plus slot machines and gambling accoutrements.  

At a cost of $25 million, the project is the largest in Carson City’s history.
