Mohegan Career Fair

The Mohegan Sun is back at work trying to hire employees for their new slots casino that they are building. They are having a career fair on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The fair will run from 9 am to 7 pm both days.

Jim Wise, the vice president of marketing, thinks that the arena is the perfect place t hold the job fair as he predicts they will have quite a large turnout. They have roughly 400 positions to fill – everything from security and finance, to food and beverage. Since the Mohegan Sun is expected to be the first slot machine casino up and running, they are trying to get a jump on the process. They will not actually have their slot machine license until after the PA Gaming Control Board has their hearings next week, but they don’t see any reason why they won’t be approved for a slot machine license.

The slot machine casino is assuming that since they are pretty much a shoe-in for the license, that if they go ahead with their hiring and construction, that it just puts them all that much closer to being fully functional come time to start up the slot machines. The casino is expecting that they will be able to be at work by December.
