Korea is in the news a lot these days with the announcement that many high ranking officials were involved in some slot machine impropriety. Rumor has it that some officials that refused to go along with the scam were actually fired. There is also the issue that the President’s son and nephew may be involved as well.

 What is important to remember is that the amount of slot machine gambling in Korea has grown rapidly. The social ills that have come from such an increase in slot machines have led to suicides and bankruptcies among their people, as they can not afford to play the slot machines as much as they have been. While everyone is fighting with each other to determine who did what, these people are still playing the slot machines, and still losing their money.

The government is planning on getting to the bottom of the slot machine controversy, and the President is confident that he will be able to clear any relatives of his’ names. The amount of debt that his people have racked up playing the slot machines is putting his country into a serious tail spin – one can only hope that when he is done taking care of his family, that he starts taking care of his people.
