The trial for the right to operate the Tropicana Rec Room in Pompano Beach continued on Wednesday, while experts were brought in to simply contradict each other. The experts were brought in to testify as to whether or not adult arcade games require experience and skill, or if they are really just slot machines and are preprogrammed to have a single determination. 

One expert got up and testified that they are just slot machines; they are designed to cheat the person playing them. The other expert got up and said that they require experience and skill and that they weren’t slot machines. They might look like slot machines, but they aren’t. 

According to the one expert, the slot machines have been set to payout only if they have not exceeded their quota for paying. That the player can hit the button to stop the wheels, and if it is a jackpot and the machine is under quota, then the player will win. However, if it is over in its payouts, the slot machine will change the result so that the player will lose.  The defense argued that this was not true, and brought in their own expert who showed that he could indeed win the game.
