Treasury Dept Employee Pleads Guilty

David C. Faison was arrested months ago after trying to launder illegal money through the slot machines in Atlantic City. He used to be a paper delivery guy for the Treasury Department, and one day got a little greedy and took more than $67,000 in uncut sheets of $100 bills.

The reason he got caught is that the money had not been fully processed yet, and did not have the serial numbers or government seals that are on every piece of paper money. The casinos’ cameras were so good, they actually noticed that the money was fraudulent and arrested him on the spot.

Faison pled guilty to stealing the money and hiding them at his house. He is charged with stealing counterfeiting materials and is facing up to a year in prison when he is sentenced. Government officials found $14,500 still at his house, and Faison must pay $37,200 in restitution and explain how he got away with it.
