EDITH Comes to Casino Pauma
EDITH has come to Casino Pauma, and officials couldn’t be happier.
EDITH stands for Electronic Debit Interactive Terminal Housing, which
means it is a cashless ticket dispenser. The casino’s patrons can now
purchase slot vouchers at the machines with their ATM debit card. This
will make for a much easier and basically cashless transaction at the
slot machines and elsewhere.
Innovative Funds Transfer, LLC, is the creator of these machines in a
joint venture with Global Cash Access and International Game
Technology. There are currently seven EDITH machines at the Casino
Pauma, and the companies feel that this is the wave of the future. The
executives at Casino Pauma are excited as they are the first to offer
such a machine. "We have a strong relationship with GCA, which has
always been at the forefront of providing innovative cash access
products, so we're very excited to be the first to offer this cashless
gaming technology to our customers," said Javier Saenz, CEO with the
casino. "EDITH will provide added convenience to our slot patrons, and
we'll benefit from reduced cash handling."
The new ticket-in, ticket-out systems have been gaining in popularity
over the years, and this is just one more example of how the process
can be streamlined. The kiosks are small and patrons just insert their
ATM, enter their PIN, and get a voucher for the amount they want. They
can also set a daily limit so that if they get caught up in a moment
they cannot overspend money they cannot afford to lose.
