The ABC’s of Stealing an Election

Say you want to be president, but you don’t think you can win on your own merit – you could always rig the voting machines to give you the presidency – and no one would be the wiser. Or at least, no one would be the wiser unless they read Steve Freeman latest book that claims that is exactly what happened.

Freeman, a University of Pennsylvania visiting professor, has a book coming out that claims Bush may owe his 2004 presidential win to the fact that there was an unfair vote count. He also claims that it is easier to rig a voting machine than it is a Vegas slot machine. He says that Vegas slot machines are much better monitored and regulated, so it would be harder to not only get access to the machines to change them, but it would be much easier to be caught.

His main premise is that we protect our slot machines, and hence our guilty pleasures, more than we protect the future of our country.
