Nevada Regulations

Nevada has some of the best regulations in the world. In fact, their regulations are so good that other gambling jurisdictions across the world have tried to copy what it is they do so well. The state Gaming Control Board thinks a lot of it has to do with the fact that they have their own testing lab, something many places had not thought of.

The Board has a lab where they monitor and test the integrity of slot machines – as slot machines are the biggest money makers and the biggest draw in most of the casinos. If you want to bring a slot machine into Nevada, you have to go through the testing first. They use the testing of the slot machines, as well as machine compliance to dictate what slot machines will be allowed and which ones won’t. Manufacturers know that if they don’t pass, their slot machine will not be allowed in the market.

Worldwide, most manufacturers send their slot machines to Vegas, to Gaming Laboratories International, a gaming lab company. They used to be a 5,000 square foot office five years ago, and today they are a 43,000 sq. ft. building with 28,000 sq. ft. of that space just for slot machine testing. They think that they are still growing as well, and expect to double the number of employees it currently has.

The company has locations in Las Vegas, New Jersey, Colorado, as well as locations on other continents – Australia, South Africa, and Europe. The Jersey location is actually the largest with 250 employees.
