Mohegan Sun Orders Slot Machines

The Mohegan Sun has ordered many of their slot machines already – they are planning on bringing in over a thousand of them, with 300 of them coming from Bally Technologies. The slot machines will all be the new coin less system, with cards and paper money the only way you can play.

The slot machines will range from $0.01 to $5 per play, with denominations of $.01, $.05, $.25, and $1.00. They can push a button, or for those that choose to, they can still pull a handle on the slot machine. They are planning on using higher stakes slot machines when they move to their more permanent location.

One of the reasons they chose to go with the new “ticket-in, ticket-out” technology is because it will make it much easier to handle the traffic. They are already hiring hundreds of employees, but with the new slot machines they can hire somewhat less than what they would have had to hire had they used older slot machine technology.

The new casino will have 2,000 slot machines and will employ over 1,000 people in their permanent location. It will take almost 2 years to complete the new facility, and in the meantime they can be using the temporary one to bring in slot machine revenue. s
