Mardi Gras in Broward

Broward County is very excited and gearing up for the first of several new slot machine casinos. The county has issued Mardi Gras Racetrack and Gaming Center their slot machine license, and their owners could not be happier.

They are expecting that Mardi Gras will be able to be open for business sometime in November, probably more later than earlier. They are planning on having 1,100 slot machines, and now that they have their slot machine license, they are going to start ordering them.

Dan Adkins, VP of the Mardi Gras Center said that he was so happy just to have the slot machine license finally in his hand. The location of the slot machine casino will be where the old Hollywood Greyhound Track used to be in Hallandale Beach. They will officially be the first to open and have their slot machines running.

Some of the current clients of the racetrack are very happy that slot machines are coming in, and others don’t want the business and the hustle and bustle that will come with it. They think the lotto is more than enough gambling, and they say that if you want slot machines go to one of the Indian reservations. The slot machine revenue however, will go to helping out the schools, so many can’t argue with that.
