Creek County Illegal Gambling

The Creek County Sheriff’s Department raided the R&T Express Grocery, the Jiffy Mart, the Pretty Mart, and the S&S Grocery on May 23rd. The four convenience stores were operating illegal slot machines and they were formally charged by Creek County District Attorney max Cook this morning.

The four owners were Diane Webster, Gloria Islam, Ray Catlett, and Deborah McCarter. They are not under arrest yet, but authorities are confident that they will voluntarily surrender at some point today, now that they have been formally charged.

The slot machines were seized after it was discovered that the machines would pay out money when cash or tokens were played in the machines. With the Jiffy Mart, players would receive a phone card after they played the slot machines. If they are found guilty of the charges, they could be looking at up to 60 days in County and/or a fine of $150.

Each of the slot machines was seized and they are now being held by Creek County.
