August Slot Revenues for Casinos

As is normal to do, the casinos release their revenues from their slot machines to the public, so that the public can see how they are operating. It also shows the state how much of that slot machine revenue is coming back to it, as they are required to give 25 percent of their slot revenue back. For August, Foxwoods Casino gave the state $17.8 million. Also for August, the Mohegan Sun gave the state $20.5 million.

The Mohegan Sun was happy to report that they had their third-best month in the history of the casino, and it was their best revenue intake in slot machine wins in August – better than any August they have ever had. They made $82 million in revenue from 6,199 slot machines.

Foxwoods Resort Casino was less happy about their numbers – they showed that they had experienced their worst August in six years. They won $71.3 million in slot machine revenue, and paid out 91.09 percent of what players played on the slot machines. They reported revenue from 7,217 slot machines.
