PA Slot Machines are Hitting Big

Residents of Pennsylvania could not wait to be the first to play the slot machines at the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. There were an estimated 1,000 people waiting outside for the opening of the slot machine casino, and they poured into the facility as soon as they opened. After two years of waiting for slot machines to be officially running, these players wanted to be the first to get a crack at them.

It didn’t take long for the slot machine casino to fill, with more than 1,800 coming through the front door in the first hour alone. Considering the fact that there are only 1,100 slot machines at the casino, people waited in lines three or four deep just to get a chance to play. The slot machines offer denominations as low as one, two or five cents to play,

The casino is the first one of 14 slot machine parlors that will be opening in Pennsylvania. The venue is not like the slot machine casino you would see in Las Vegas or Atlantic City, it was actually quite sublime. It is attached to a grandstand that is part of the harness racing track. One of the biggest complaints was that the slot machine players had to buy their drinks instead of getting free ones like you do in the other gambling Meccas.
