Jones Supports Slot Machines
Nathaniel Jones is
a retired federal judge, but that doesn’t mean he has any less clout
or pull. He has decided to come out in favor of the slot machine
measure that is up for voting this November. He thinks that bringing
slot machines to the state of Ohio is one of the best ideas he has
heard yet.
Jones has appeared
in several TV ads across Ohio urging voters to approve the slot
machine measure, and thinks that the slot machines are a great way to
improve education for the students of their state. Jones said that he
thought the slot machines were “a means of providing a funding source
for scholarships for Ohio children.”
Jones thinks the
funding from the slot machines could be a way to battle high school
drop out rates. He thinks that if slot machine revenue can be used to
fund scholarships then the slot machines are actually giving children
hope for a better future. He does not know what to think about
expanded gambling, but thinks the slot machines are worth it. He knows
that funding is needed in the state to help with the high rising costs
of a college education, and it seems that the slot machines and the
slot machine revenue would be the perfect way to do that.
"Gambling is
here," Jones said. "I'm not one who is in any position of doing
anything about the mentality that supports gambling. I do have an
overriding concern for providing resources for young people to achieve
the highest level of education."
