Harrah’s Growing Slot Machines

Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. is expanding faster and faster each day, and is looking to grow its slot machines in Rhode Island next. The company has been focusing its dollars and its influence to try and assist the Narragansett Indians in getting a slot machine casino in West Warwick, R.I.

When the campaign first started in 2002, Harrah’s was a $4 billion company with 26 slot machine casinos in 12 states. It just goes to show you what can happen in four years, for the company is now a $7.1 billion conglomerate of 39 slot machine casinos in 3 countries.

The company however, will not be deterred from its focus, and that is to get a slot machine casino in Rhode Island. They have spent billions to expand to where they are now, with slot machine casinos in locations everywhere they think they can draw in the slot machine and table gamblers. They are fairly spread across the US, but still have not been able to get into New England other than Atlantic City, NJ.

If the company can manage to get into West Warwick, they will fulfill a company mission that everyone in the United States will live no more than 400 miles from one of their slot machine and table casinos. They are dedicated to getting one in Rhode Island, and with the slot machine issue being voted on this November, they may actually have a real shot. They have inundated the voters with the positives of allowing slot machines to come there, and they think they have a real chance of pulling it off this time.
