Hallandale Readying Its Slots 

The Mardi Gras Racetrack and Gaming Center, formerly known as the Hollywood Greyhound Track in Hallandale Beach, is bringing in some of the “flashiest” slot machines around. The center is bringing in roughly 40 of the very popular “Wheel of Fortune” slot machines, and that is just the beginning. 

They are also planning on bringing in the “Super Spin Wheel of Fortune” that is a multiplayer slot machine near the end. Among the 1,147 slot machines that they will be bringing in are “Monopoly” and “Double Diamond” – and they have already started arriving. The “Monopoly” slot machines will be placed near the exterior, as they are more than likely to grab the attention of passersby with their lights and sounds. 

The new Mardi Gras racino is going to have a slot machine room, a poker room, and a greyhound track, all open for business the beginning of next year. They are planning on having their “gala grand opening” on January 6^th of 2007, with their unofficial “lets see how we do” opening a month prior to the grand opening.
