French Lick Slot Machines Open

After thirteen years the French Lick slot machine casino is finally open. It is officially Indiana’s 11th casino, and opened its doors for the first time yesterday. Many feel that this is a major turning point for the state, and that economically speaking the state will be progressing nicely with the addition of more slot machines and thus more revenue for the state.

The ribbon cutting ceremony that officially opened the slot machine casino was attended by more than 4,000 invited guests, all of whom got to try their hands at the slot machines upon opening. There were executives from the slot machine industry, local officials, etc. there to open their doors.

"The state gaming commission said we're in pretty good shape," said Bill Cook, the founder of Cook Group Inc., one of the slot machine casino’s partners.

They do not expect any problems with the Indiana Gaming Commission giving their approval to the slot machine casino, a $382 million project. The slot machine casino will open officially on Friday morning, and will host 1,200 slot machines. This is the state’s smallest but newest casino.
