It’s Good to Be the First Slot Machine on the Block 

The Mohegan Sun drew the golden ticket when they got their slot machine casino up and running – as they were the first in the state to do so. They are the first of 14 slot machine licenses issued by state regulators to have an operational casino. "It's always great to be first. That's something no one can take away from you," said Jim Wise, Vice President of Marketing.

The slot machine casino has spent the last month training 465 employees, who have learned everything there is to know about slot machines and casinos, including cleaning out the casinos 1100 slot machines. The two floor slot machine casino fits roughly 3,500 people, and this is just temporary. The slot machine casino will be opening a main permanent casino in 2008 that will be even larger than the first.

Slot machine gamblers are expected to travel from all parts of Pennsylvania as well as New Jersey and New York. This time next year, their slot machines will be competing with six other tracks who will have their slot machines up and running as well. In two years, they will be one in a dozen.
