PA Looking at Table Games

There had been talk of Pennsylvania wanting table games not long after they had approved slot machines, but now they have gone ahead with the approval after all. They have approved an electronic table game that looks just like a slot machines, but mimics the features that you would get when playing a table game.

The state does not allow traditional table games, but it seems that an electronic version is ok because the odds are random and one player’s decisions do not affect another player’s game. The Gaming Control Board has approved the Blackjack version of the slot machine, and it is made by Shuffle Master, Inc.

But now that they have allowed the first slot machine table game to come in, it will only be a matter of time before more are allowed in as well. The manufacturer also carries Three Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold’em which they expect to be approved in no time at all. The games just got approval in Nevada, and since they have the toughest regulations of all – it will just be a matter of time until they are popping up all over the place.

For some people, these games are breaking state law. They say that PA is trying to circumvent the law that says slot machines and not table games would be allowed. They say that the slot machines are the only thing that the state’s casinos are supposed to be offering and that they are angered by the Gaming Control Board’s decision.
