Gaming Summit Shows New Slots
It is always a blast to check out the newest slot machines, and those
in attendance at the Southern Gaming Summit’s expo got an eye full.
There were many manufacturers in attendance this year, and lots of
slot machines to check out. These types of venues are always great to
try and get an idea of what slot machines manufacturers are
envisioning for the year ahead.
The newest slot machines, as well as table games and the biggest and
brightest technologies were on display for all to see. Shuffle Master
was the most noticeable absence in that they are rumored to be having
some problems. Their not being there had many questioning what might
be going on with the company.
Of those that were there, server based slot machines seem to tbe the
way of the future. Everyone was talking about the newest server
technologies, and how the older slot machines would be impacted by it.
However, slot machine makers themselves seemed to say that replacement
demand is not what is has been rumored to be.
They say that the transition for most casinos and slot machine parlors
will be a gradual process, nothing like the recent demand for the
ticket-in/ticket-out slot machines that most, if not all, slot machine
parlors and casinos have now switched to. They say that most casinos
will replace probably around a quarter of their gaming room floor slot
machines at a time, with an eventual overhaul of all of the slot
machines.
