Quick NETeller Update
It looks as though the government has gotten yet one more continuance
in the case against NETeller. This would make the fourth continuence
that the feds have gotten against the company since it brought charges
against them.
The United State Government asked a New York federal judge for another
continuance, making this number four for the government. The US
Department of Justice had brought charges of money laundering and tax
evasion against the two men, Steven Lawrence and John Lefebvre, who
started NETeller.
What does not make sense is that the two men had left the company
months before it became an issue to be involved in online gambling,
and many think that the continuances are simply stall tactics that the
government is using to intimidate other online gamblers.
They are also able to hold onto gamblers’ money while they continue
the case, which many see as yet one more form of harassment. There are
many who would like to see their money returned, but are fearful of
making waves since the government is obviously not afraid to throw
allegedly innocent people in jail.
