Citadel Funds Frozen

Citadel Commerce is just the latest to become a target of the United States Department of Justice. Because the company has a past history of internet gambling, the US Department of Justice has frozen their merchant funds.

The online processing company has recently has $9.25 million of their funding frozen by the government. They released a statement last month that revealed that the millions that the Department of Justice has seized were in their care, and that they did not know when they would be released.

They are not the first processing company to come under scrutiny by the Department of Justice, and previous reports have said that there have been similar cases brought against the Optimal Group in reference to two of their subsidiaries.

A spokesman for the Citadel said that the company is going to continue to work with the Department of Justice to “resolve the situation.” They say that almost a million of the funds that the government had taken was capital that belongs to the company, and that they would be negotiating with the Department of Justice until all issues are resolved.
