American Idol Bets

Some people will find absolutely anything to place bets on, and American Idol is just ripe with bettors. Each week more and more people vote on the program, but away from TV land there are bookies who are taking bets on who will win, and who will be eliminated each week. However, one turned out to be a gold mine for bookies all by himself.

Sanjaya Malakar’s elimination was a boon to online casinos, as many people bet that he would continue on while someone else would be eliminated. However for all of those that thought he would be gone, there were many who bet that he would be eliminated – whether or not this was just wishful thinking, I don’t know.

Malakar was the favorite to be voted off coming in at +125, but he wasn’t alone. They put LaKisha Jones pretty close to even with him at +145. The others, a bit further apart, were Phil Stacey at +255 and Chris Richardson at +275. How did people know that it would in fact be Malakar that would go home?

Of course, the odds vary throughout the day, so if you are wondering who will be the next to go, you can make your best guess based on the odds, but they aren’t an exact science. Think of all the weeks that Malakar was picked to go and stayed while someone else sang the last song?
