Sisters Split Record Slot Machine Jackpot

Five sisters are walking away from the Great Blue Heron almost a million dollars richer – each one of them. One of the sisters, Joanne McLeod, was playing the Megabucks Wide Area Progressive Slot Machine when she hit the jackpot for more than $4.9 million. This makes the largest payout in the casino’s history, and the third largest slot machine payout in Ontario’s history.

The previous casino jackpot was $2,056,353 which was won by Ken Morris last September. Megabucks is a progressive jackpot that is linked to other commercial sites, as well as charity casinos sites within Ontario. The five sisters: Joanne McLeod, Kim Clowes, Kim and Susan Potts, and Norma Lewis-Lamoureux, ended up splitting $4,956,920 which came out to a little over $991,000 per sister.

This is the third time the Megabucks has hit at the casino, and the sisters were so very happy that it was them. They each had plans for the money, but they were all going to chip in to buy their niece a bigger home and to help her raise her six children. Management was very pleased and they said they “couldn’t be happier for them.”
