BC Lottery is Changing

The BC Lottery Corporation has announced that they are planning on opening casinos to boost business. They believe that they can open resort casinos and entice customers from other provinces to come and increase their gambling revenue. Estimates have the increase at more than 15% over the next three years.

They are going to take some of the older casinos and change them so that they are more updated, more glamorous than the ones they currently have. They are going to try to emulate the look and feel of the River Rock Casino in Richmond, which has a hotel, conference center, restaurants, etc.

They have released a statement that says that they are going to continue to work to create gambling experiences for their players that put them above the rest in terms of service, glamour, and reliability. They believe that hey can become a major player in the tourism industry. They have already started construction on two of the new casinos; one will be located in Burnaby and the other in New Westminster.

They won’t be increasing the number of casinos past seventeen; in fact they are only creating what they call “replacement” casinos in the province. Some are concerned that the updates will bring in a clientele that they do not necessarily want, plus they say that the amount of gambling addiction will increase as well. Officials say that any problems with the casinos will be handled by the gaming enforcement branch. They are planning on supplementing the amount of money that they will be receiving to the tune of $4 million.
