Making it Illegal Doesn’t Stop Gaming

It doesn’t matter how many laws the government passes against internet gambling, where there is a will there is a way- and there is definitely a will. Many thought that with the government passing the law to make it illegal, that it would stop it, but all it did was drive the payment processing part of it underground.

Online gambling is increasing by the droves, especially among housewives and college students. As it becomes increasingly easier to play by using money middlemen, more and more are taking advantage of these services and playing in their “down time.”

Online gambling has become as simple as purchasing an item on eBay – you simply deposit money into an account, and then you can take it out whenever you need to. Hundreds of thousands of people are playing the internet gambling scheme, and as they can play 24/7 it never ends.

Many think that online poker is becoming even bigger than online slot machines, as more and more people take advantage of the various training games, etc. that are now offered as well. The government is concerned because online gambling is growing at a rate of $10 billion a year, but it is still an illegal industry.

Many think that they should have just made it legal, and then the US could be benefiting from the billions being spent. Instead they chose to make it illegal which didn’t stop people from gambling, it just stopped the US banks from benefiting from it.
