Brown Leaves Ontario Lottery

Duncan Brown and the Board of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission have announced that he has resigned his position with the company. This announcement comes just as there have been rumors about illegal practices with the ticket sellers. The official enquiry into the allegations has not been released, and is not due to be until Monday.

Andre Martin, Ontario ombudsman, is supposed to report his findings on whether or not ticket sellers in the province are winning more prizes than they should be. Brown was CEO of the company, and rumor has it that the Ontario province Culture Minister David Caplan did not want it announced until after the report findings were known.

Brown has been CEO of the OLG since March of 2004 – and has earned a healthy $360,000 as his salary. Many think that Brown did an excellent job as CEO and that the company is using him as a scapegoat for the problems within the system. They say these problems were going on well before Brown ever took the position.

The company is now looking for security jobs for people to investigate the Ontario problem as well as investigating those that would like to do business with the OLG in the future.
