Mountaineer Wants Table Games

With Jefferson County rejecting the table games and Ohio County approving them, Hancock County thinks they have a shot at the legalization of table games. They say that Ohio and Hancock Counties are very similar in nature and in situation, and they think that voters will see that.

They are working hard to convince voters that table games are in their best interest, showing everything that they are prepared to offer them. They plan on making the track a resort destination, not just slot machines and table games. They will have a hotel, outdoor sporting areas, and a golf course.

They say that not only will it bring in tourism, but it will also bring in jobs. They say that they will need to hire both temporary construction workers for jobs, as well as hundreds of permanent casino employees.

They say that since Hancock has a higher unemployment rate than Ohio did, people should vote them in based on that if nothing else.

Gaming opponents are also gearing up for the June 30th election, and they are sure that they will be successful this time. They don’t think that voters will vote them in, they think that they will see another Jefferson County turnout.
