No More Gambling Ads on UK Google

It seems as if even the mighty Google has fallen to the whims of a republic that does not represent its people. The company has banned all advertising for online gambling in the UK. They have expanded that ban to now include affiliates of gaming sites, even if they are not an actual gambling site themselves.

They will not allow any advertising that will involve promoting gambling, including but not limited to offering free poker tutorials or free play options. They do not want any site “driving traffic to online gambling sites.”

They are banning everything from promoting online casinos to sportsbooks, from bingo and poker to sites that just offer tips and suggestions – who don’t even allow gambling on their site. They have made it so you can’t even play for fun- when there is no money around or involved, as it will ultimately lead to sending more players to actual gambling sites.

The UK version of the search engine had previously banned just casinos and sportsbooks, but they decided to expand the ban based on the “views of their users.” They said that they understand that some people like to gamble, and some do not, but they have found that many of their users do not gamble and do not wish to see it on the site. Therefore, effective immediately, they will be following their wishes.
