Everyone Loses at Some Point

When playing online, or in a land based casino, everyone ends up with some sort of a losing streak now and then. For some people it can last a long time, for some maybe a hand or two. However, the difference between a winning player and a losing player is how you handle it when you are losing.

Some people panic a little and start to place larger bets in an attempt to get back some of the money they have lost. Bad idea! If you find yourself getting into a losing streak, lower your bets and wait it out, that way you save on the amount of money that you are losing.

Or you can try switching games – some people find that if they are at a blackjack table and they are losing, they might have better luck at the baccarat table instead. Or maybe, they are having a hard time at roulette, so they go try the slot machines to give themselves a break. Either way, it is best to just jump back on the horse, but only after making sure you aren’t going over what you can lose financially.

The biggest problem gamblers have is being able to walk away if they are losing and they have spent all the money they have allotted themselves for the evening. They think that if they just spend a little more that they will turn it around. However, all they will usually end up doing is losing more money. Remember, it is a fine line between professional gambler, or play-for-fun gambler and addict.
