Meadows is Open for Business

The Meadows Racetrack had their official opening on Monday morning, as officials cut the ribbon announcing that the slot machines were now ready to be played. The track had been working on adding slot machines ever since they were legalized in Pennsylvania, and are just one of several tracks to offer slot mahcines in the last few months.

They say that with this ribbon cutting, the competition is about to heat up for gamers in the tri state area. They know that they are going to pull some traffic from other Pennsylvania slot machines, but they are also going to pull it from other states.

Where the Meadows is located makes it prime competition for West Virginia’s slot machine operators, and they are confident that they will be pulling a lot of their traffic. Mike Graninger, the General Manager of the Meadows, said that with the addition of slot machines they are “optimistic” about the future of the track.

Graninger went on to say that they are looking forward to the competition they will be getting from other locations, and especially from Wheeling Island in Ohio County and Mountaineer Racetrack in Hancock County. Both locations are currently voting on whether or not to add table games to their slot machines, and if they vote to things could really heat up.

They say that they are going to pursue bringing table games to the Meadows as well, and all they know is that for now there were a line of cars waiting to get into the casino on Monday, and they don’t expect that to stop.
