Antigua Still Fighting US

Some thought that the small nation of Antigua and Barbuda would go quietly into that dark night, however, they are not stopping the fight. Some thought that they couldn’t do much fighting a big nation like America, however, not only do they have the law on their side, they also have other countries.

The nation is trying to get sanctions imposed against the US because they will not allow online gambling and slot machines, even though the World Trade Organization has ordered them to do so. They are now trying to get China and the European Union to work with them, and many think that they will.

It is suspected that China will jump at the chance of a payback to the US, since they are always using the WTO to pressure China to live up to the US patent rules. The EU will probably side with them as they usually side with the smaller nations that have won these rulings.

The nation is home to several online gambling and slot machine sites, and they are losing millions of dollars in revenue with the US not allowing free trade. The US has continued to block online gambling and has passed a law that makes it illegal for financial institutions to process any transaction that is determined to be linked to online gambling and slot machines.

Even though the WTO has ordered them to comply, the US has decided that it will not. They said that their position violated the General Agreement on Trades in Services, to which the US replied that they would not longer abide by the gambling services segment of the agreement.
