Tribe Adding More Slot Machines

The Mohegan Sun is one of the world’s largest slot machine casinos, but that just isn’t enough. They have announced plans to expand the slot machine casino located in Uncasville, Connecticut to the tune of $740 million. They are planning on adding poker to the slot machines as well as a House of Blues hall.

They are going to theme some of it to those groups that they do not feel they are currently bringing into the slot machine casino. They would like to see more of those in their 20’s coming into the slot machine casino and think that the addition of poker tables will do that for them. They are also hoping that Asian themed slot machines will help to draw in that crowd as well.

The casino has 6,000 slot machines at the moment and with the expansion will be adding another 964 slot machines to the new casino called Casino of the Wind. Later on they will be adding the Casino of the Earth which will bring in their Asian customers with themed dining and more slot machines. They believe that when they closed their poker room back in 2003 to make room for more slot machines they lost a part of their client base. Now with the reopening of the poker tables, they hope to win them back.
