Is Texas Ready for Slot Machines?

With seemingly every other state jumping on the slot machine bandwagon, it is no wonder that Texas would start thinking of them as well. You can go north or northeast to play the slot machines in Vegas or Louisiana, but Texas makes the slot machines completely illegal. However, they need money for their school system, and slot machines may be the way for them to fund it.

There are numerous opportunities for Texans to either drive or hop a bus on over the border to play the slot machines in Louisiana, as they run the busses all day long. Texans are wondering why, if their residents are spending so much money in another state anyway, they wouldn’t consider legalizing the slot machines so that that income could stay in house.

Millions of dollars of slot machine revenue is flowing from the state, and that is money that could help out their schools, as well as many other aspects of their government. There are already illegal slot machine gaming rooms in Texas, and they are losing the possible revenue they could be getting from them every year. If they were to legalize the slot machines they would be getting millions – especially since people are going to play them anyway.

Considering the amount of slot machine revenue that they are losing it would behoove the state of Texas to legalize the machines and start collecting much needed revenue.
