Sands Slot Machines Bring Museum
With the Sands bringing in a $700 million development including a slot
machine casino, it was only natural that things in the town of
Bethlehem would have to change. However, many of those changes are for
the better, such as the opening of the Bethlehem Steel Museum. The
town has wanted a museum for some time now, but without enough funding
it could not happen. The land changed hands several times which also
made it difficult to raise money, but as soon as the slot machine
license was awarded to Bethlehem, things were bound to change.
The museum probably still would not be getting the green light to open
if it hadn’t been for the slot machines coming in. The slot machine
casino is expected to bring in 5 million people a year to Bethlehem
and those people are not going to spend all of their time at the
casino. Some of those people are going to want to see the rest of
Bethlehem, and this is where the museum will come in.
CCS Fundraising has also taken on the project and feel that they can
help them raise their money. They came to light after the slot machine
license was announced, and said that they thought they could help with
the fundraising. They are known for their work in non-profit sectors,
and have a 90% success rate with raising money, so they are probably
the museums best bet. Some say it will be months before whether or not
they will know if the museum will be a go or not, but museum officials
say that the moment the slot machine licenses were announced the
museum was a go.
