Slot Machine Casino Gets New Manager

The Augustine Casino has announced that they are welcoming Stephen Loyd as the General Manager of their slot machine casino. Loyd ran the slot machine casino operations at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino back in 2002, then worked with Cherokee Nation Enterprises in their casino as well. He is excited about the new opportunity.

When Arizona allowed Indian casinos to bring in slot machines and blackjack, Loyd was on the front lines pushing it through and making it happen. Then when the Cherokee’s brought in card games and a compact with Oklahoma, he was there again. Now he has returned to the west to run the Augustine Casino for the Augustine Band of Cahuilla Indians.

Mary Ann Green, the chairperson of the tribe, said that she was “delighted” that Loyd had chosen to take the position, and that it was a key role in the tribe’s management. She said that the popularity that their slot machine casino had already experienced had the ability to get even larger with Loyd at the helm. She said that the slot machine casino could use someone with his experience and “technical knowledge.”

The slot machine casino is located near La Quinta in Coachella. There is a twenty acre reservation there, and the 800 slot machines are their biggest money maker.
