Slot Machines Can Be a Goldmine
Many states are looking for various ways to create additional income
for the state, with some going so far as to try and lease major
landmarks or highways to people just to bring in some extra cash.
However, some states saw that by bringing in slot machines they had a
virtual goldmine, and now they are cashing in. Every state except for
Hawaii and Utah have legalized some kind of gambling, whether it be
slot machines or lottery – and experts say that the more gambling they
allow, the more money they will see, and thus they will end up
bringing in more and more gambling to feed the beast.
Commercial gambling – all gambling except that of the Indian tribes is
another story. It brought in almost $5 billion in 2005 and is expected
to bring in more this year. That amount does not include the $16
billion from state lotteries or the $1 billion they get from the slot
machines, etc. from Indian Casinos.
The amount of Indian gaming in this country is astounding, and not all
of them even have slot machines. Between the sheer amount of casinos
and the various games or slot machines that they offer, gambling is a
$55.5 billion industry. The highest gaming revenues in the country
come from Nevada, then California, then New Jersey, then Louisiana,
then Mississippi.
Depending on where you live, you might be able to play Class II slot
machines – also known as bingo machines; you might be able to play
Class III slot machines – Vegas style machines; maybe table games,
maybe none of the above – maybe just the state lottery. Arkansas just
got bingo, and Pennsylvania and parts of Florida just legalized slot
machines.
