Bensalem Slot Machine Win Voided

Stephen Wilkinson was thinking he was going to enjoy his retirement just a little more after winning at a slot machine in Bensalem, PA. Wilkinson was playing the Wheel of Fortune slot machine, feeding $0.50 a pull into the machine, when suddenly it lit up and said his name – and said he had won $102,000. Then a casino employee told him he hadn’t.

The slot machine was at the new Philadelphia Park Casino, and officials there say that his name was on the machine because he was using a player card and the machine was keeping track of who was playing. They said that the slot machine erred and Wilkinson did not win the jackpot, but could have two comps for the buffet instead.

The casino said that Wilkinson experienced an error in the communication system of not the slot machine, but actually from the in-house communications system of the casino. The casino runs 2,100 slot machines, and it seems that there was some sort of error. They also pointed out that all of the slot machines have a disclaimer on them saying that if the machine malfunctions that the jackpot is voided.

Wilkinson has filed a complaint with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, who said that if the casino is as fault they will be fined and sanctioned.
