Women Prefer Online Poker

There is a group called eCOGRA, who is the online gaming industry standards authority, has released a new study with some surprising results. They have found that more women have started playing online poker than ever before. They have found that the number of participants has grown from 15% to 30% over the course of two years.

They have also discovered that it is not just in the playing that women are getting interested in poker – it translates to the corporate side of the equation as well. More and more women are starting to take over the corporate side of the gaming industry, taking over leading positions that have been traditionally held by men.

They say that they have noticed the change slowly happening over the past few years, but they were surprised when they actually sat down and did a quantitative analysis to find that the number of women had doubled. They found that women are starting to prefer the poker online games to the slot machines – which is unusual as slot machines are traditionally a woman’s game.
