What Will Slot Machines Do To Traffic?

Pittsburgh is an interesting city in that it is sports, and shopping, and all the things that make it a great city, but also traffic which makes it not so great. Especially on game days, you can plan on traffic being much worse than it is on a normal day. But all of that is about to change – its about to get much worse.

With Don Barden getting the slot machine license to build a casino in Pittsburgh, he is planning on building it right by the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Stadium. What football fans know is that parking is already terrible over there, and with the addition of all of those cars coming to play the slot machines it is going to be impossible.

Many feel that the North Side neighborhood does not need a slot machine parlor and that it would have been better to build it in another part of town. Some say that none of the plans would have worked, for to build a slot machine casino downtown or on the South Side would have been much worse. But in all essence, a slot machine casino should be built outside of Pittsburgh in an area where there could have been ample parking, and far enough away not to cause traffic congestion.
