Guaranteed Slot
Machines
International
Games Technology Inc. has come up with a new idea for slot machines –
“guaranteed play.” The idea is that the casinos will sell slot machine
players a set number of spins in advance. The player will then take
those spins to the slot machines and the video poker machines and
play, rather than using credits.
The credit
meter will start at $0 and will increase or decrease with the outcome
of each spin of the slot machine. If the slot machine ends up with a
positive number at the end, the player wins it. If the slot machine
ends up with a negative number at the end, the player walks away with
nothing more owed.
It is unusual
for slot machines to give any sort of guarantee, which is liable to
make some players suspicious of the casinos’ interests in such a game.
Since not every slot machine will offer the guarantee, there is some
suspicion as to what is in it for the casino and if it will really pay
as well as a normal one will – or if it is set to have the player lose
more often.
Missouri Gaming
Commission has already expressed an interest in the slot machines;
they say that since Missouri considers themselves cutting edge in the
slot machine industry, they don’t know why they wouldn’t want them.
