PA Gaming Board Confused
Pennsylvania has
decided to legalize the slot machine business in its state. However,
what initially seemed a somewhat easy process has become quite an
ordeal for the state. The Governor and the Gaming Control Board seem
to think that it is the process of obtaining the slot machine that is
much of the problem. They think that by eliminating the so-called
middle man in the process that more slot machines will be able to come
into the state with less hassle and in less time.
The Gaming Control
Board originally set up the process to ensure that all steps of the
slot machine production would effectively eliminate fraud within the
system. They have since discovered, however, that the extra step is
adding to the confusion and back up within the slot machine process.
As the Governor and
the Gaming Control Board have both decided that this will speed up the
slot machine distribution process, they are waiting for the rest of
the state to catch up. Senator Fumo is willing to approve the bill,
but has tacked on an additional item, which cuts operators shares from
48% to 44% - which leaves many wondering just what that has to do with
the original slot machine bill. Back to
