Guam Greyhound Seeks Limelight Again

The new owner of the Guam Greyhound Race Park is back in the news again with his unveiling of his reasoning behind the new interest in Guam Racing, including his plan for the future. He thinks that the location of the racetrack is ideal for him and his business partners as it is very close to Asia and they do a lot of business there.  Guam Greyhound used to be a very popular place, and John Baldwin is hoping he is the man to bring it all back around to where it was.

Even though most of his businesses were in the US and Europe in the past; he has now shifted his interests and his businesses to Asia. Guam gives him the opportunity to handle his businesses from a closer standpoint. He claims that as soon as he saw Guam Greyhound, he knew that he had to own it – he said it would be his fun project. He says if he is not successful in his slot machine bid that he will still try to revitalize Guam Greyhound, but will not try to bring in slot machines to anywhere else in the country. He just found out that he has the required number of signatures, so all he can do now is hope the voters approve it as well.

His new plan is:

v      Slot machines, of course

v      Enclosing the grandstand area and air conditioning it

v      Add a new complex with restaurants and entertainment venues
