Fontaine Illegal Slot Machine Charges

Gale Fontaine has had just about as much trouble as one gal can handle, and today it got even worse. Broward Country brought more charges against her, pertaining to another establishment that she owns that is also an illegal slot machine parlor. Fontaine maintains that the businesses are for retirees to have some fun and they are the same as kids playing video games. The 56 year old woman is looking to spend almost a decade in jail if convicted, as Broward County is maintaining that they are illegal slot machines.

The latest group of charges comes on the day that jury selection is taking place in her first arrest for illegal slot machines. The Broward County Sheriff’s Department seized 50 video machines, while she is still trying to fight off the first raid that got her in trouble in the first place. She is now the first in the state to face gambling charges for illegal slot machines that are known as “adult arcades”. There are somewhere around 100 of these arcades all across Florida and she is the first to come under fire for owning and operating one. Her attorney, Davide Oscar Markus, is helping Fontaine to fight both sets of charges. "It's a bully tactic that is used to intimidate people and we intend to fight that case as vigorously as we're fighting this case," Markus said.
