Codere Deal Made

A deal with Codere, a Spanish gaming company has been met. The company operates 76 bingo halls across Spain, as well as more than 30,000 slot machines in bars and amusement arcades. This joint venture is primed to take flight with the country’s new gambling laws, which now allow retail betting. British betting shops aside, the new slot machines will be in places such as kiosks – which is how Codere usually does business, in bars and bingo halls.

William Hill is looking good at this point, and David harding, William Hill’s chief executive released a statement saying that if this venture worked out, that there was no limit to the possibilities with the Spanish slot machine company. It will cost quite a bit to pay for the shops that will be needed for the deal, so profits are probably a long ways away.

Operating costs have risen 26%, however, the Stanley deal only adds roughly 5% of that increase. It seems that William Hill is really working very hard to bring money in, as the company is having a time keeping up profits. With the addition of the slot machines, that task should get easier.
