Big Money at Caesars Indiana

If you were lucky enough to be one of the recent windfall winners at Caesars Indiana, you might want to check your winnings again. It seems that there was a slot machine that was paying a little more than usual out to its customers. The slot machine was paying ten times the amount it was supposed to, which means big wins for customers, big losses for the casino.

The casino lost $487,000 in two days, and would have kept losing except for the fact that some honest person told the management what was happening with the slot machine. It turns out that the slot machine was set for play in the Philippines, and converted the value of American Cash.

For those that played with cash, there is no way of tracking them down, but those that played with club cards will probably be contacted to return their “winnings”. Harrah’s Entertainment is also in trouble, as the slot technicians could have conceivably found the error if they had done routine maintenance and repair tests – many of which are supposed to be done before the machine is ever allowed to be played. The slot techs skipped them to save time, according to authorities.
