Alabama Slot Machines Seized

Keith Fleming was arrested and charged with operating five illegal slot machines in his Bp station in Alabama. The owner and operator of the machines was confused as to why he was being singled out. He claims that there are about 60 machines in the area, and he wants to know why only his five were seized. The 31 year old man was not originally arrested with the seizure of the machines as he could not be found. However, once authorities located him, he was charged with five counts of possession of a gambling device and one count of promoting gambling.

After posting his $15,000 bound, he asked the Press-Register why he was being focused on. The District Attorney, Tommy Chapman said that undercover workers actually saw the slot machines paying customers when they won. He is also hoping that this arrest will serve as a deterrent for anyone else who is currently running an illegal slot machine parlor. He claims that they keep warning different businesses and telling them that there would be repercussions for those that did not get rid of the illegal slot machines. However, as in Fleming’s case, many think they are either above the law or that they won’t get caught. Mr. Fleming is a good example as to how that logic is faulty.
