Location, Location, Location

As in many things, the location of your home or your business determines its worth. With slot machines, it could not be any truer. It used to be that Atlantic City had the premier location, and that anyone who wanted to play the slot machines had to go there to do it. However, the times they are a changing and no one knows that better than AC.

There is a new sheriff in town, and he is located in Pennsylvania. With the advent of slot machines in PA, there are two casinos that have been open only a few short months, but that is more than enough time to have an influence on the amount of slot machine revenue that AC brings in. The PhiladelphiaPark Casino and Racetrack in Bensalem and Harrah’s Chester Casino & Racetrack in Chester are both having quite an influence on AC’s bottom line.

According to the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, they have already taken a large chunk of AC’s revenue by bringing in thousands of slot machines all much closer for residents of neighboring states – so now they don’t have to drive across NJ to play. As PA only has slot machines for now, if you want table games you will still have to make the drive, but every casino owner knows that the slot machines are where they make their money.

Add to the location factor the idea that gas prices keep going up, and staying closer to home starts to look even more attractive than it did before. And considering the fact that the only difference is the absence of table games, those slot machines are going to end up working out very well for PA.
