Half-cent Slot Machines Added

The Mohegan Sun is pleased to announce that they are the first to add the latest trend in slot machines – half cent slots. That’s right, you can now bet a half a cent in a slot machine – talk about getting more for your money. The tribe is adding 20 of the new slot machines at its Casino of the Earth and Casino of the Sun.

Over the next three weeks, the casino will have added the new machines, making them the first in the United States to offer the new slot machines. This new revolution to the slot machine industry will allow customers to bet more than a half a penny if they want to, but the minimum bet will now be half a cent which will enable players to play even longer than before.

This is not the only changes that the Mohegan Sun will be making. In February they announced that they will have coin free slot machines, using the ticket in, ticket out technology that has become so popular in places like Atlantic City and Las Vegas. No longer will their clients have to worry about coins, they will simply be able to get tickets for their winnings, and then cash them in at redemption machines. All machines will be coin-less by May 1st.

They have other changes on the horizon, but most should be completed by 2010 with the final touches of their Project Horizon expansion. By that point they will have more than 7,600 slot machines, a new hotel, a new casino, and retail and restaurant space as well. The expansion will cost them roughly $740 million to complete.
